Win98/Me problem

I''m currently making my first Direct Draw game and it is working fine on 2 Windows XP systems (one without vc++ and the directx 8.1 SDK). However if I try the game on a Win98 or WinMe game it just doesn''t want to work and crashes back to the desktop. Plz give me some ideas...

What exactly is failing and what is the code you''re using for that part? Have you setup any kind of error checking as you setup everything for DirectX? Something that will create a message box if the previous step failed.

this kind of problem is usually because of your CreateDevice.
check all the states and error codes.

basically debug your code and see which functions fail ..
