I got directed here through someone''s interest in my bands music, saying it would be great stuff for upcoming game soundtracks (specifically Doom 3 and Unreal Tournament 2003). I am wondering who to contact. If you are interested in the music visit www.holonband.com and download the mp3''s or visit www.mp3.com and search for HolonBand. Holon is intense, energy driven industrial along the lines of Ministry, NIN, Front Line Assembly, etc. YThanks!

Just had a listen to "Fades". Very nice, I must say. It would certainly suit some types of game.

Thanks Bankie. It''s good to have some unbiased feedback. If you like the music at all, you need to check out some new stuff I''ll be putting on www.holonband.com. Beautiful Eudemon, Stepping Silently Through, and a remix of Machine Said.

Also, do you know any contacts for game soundtracks? I think it would be pretty damn interesting to get a song or songs involved with that.

Lastly, where are you from? I visited the BANKIE website and see you have some UK links... Just curious. I''m in the states, Orlando, FL.
If what you mean is that you came here to become involved with the Doom3 or UT soundtrack - well, you came to the very wrong place...

This site is almost solely about amateur development teams who get together to make games. Once in a while, you''ll find a team which actually cares whether or not there''s a soundtrack for their game, so they recruit a musician. 99% of these ''job offers'' are unpaid unless the game actually gets completed and makes money, something which happens 1% of the time.

So you might say that this site is all about learning and trying to get involved in making your own game music. You should go to the Help Wanted forum where people recruit people.

Gotcha! Thanks for the info, Vaevictis. Like I said, it was just someone in another forum that posted a link to here. I appreciate the reply!
I''m from the west of Scotland (part of the UK), not far from Glasgow, Sickscent.

I would have thought that makers of commercial games would hire a musician/musicians to tailor-make music for them. I don''t really know much about the industry though, being a simple amateur. I did my own music in my game (quite a short piece to keep the file size down), but I''m sure there are others here who would jump at the chance to use one of your tunes if you chose to donate it. As Vaevictis implies, I doubt you''re about to make a pile of cash out of this.

I''ll have a listen to your other tracks at lunch time tomorrow then email you my thoughts (since I doubt anyone here cares about what I think of your tracks).

Yes; if you just want to help out on a game, there''s plenty of opportunity. Musicians are a bit more in demand on these forums than many other positions, so you shouldn''t have any problems finding a team.
