glColor3f(0.0f,1.0f,0.0f); glLoadIdentity(); glTranslatef(-40.5f,3.25f,-10.0f); gluSphere(quadratic,0.5f,32,32); Why does it draw the green sphere in the same place whatever the numbers I put in the glTranslatef bit and even if the glTranslatef bit isn''t there?

what''s your graphics card and driver version ?

btw, what do you mean by "it draws the green sphere in the same place" ? the sphere is always in the center of the screen, or in a corner of the screen, and never moves ?
what happens if you scale the sphere ? is it rendered bigger/smaller ?
