Speed issues
I''m running an AMD K6-2 500 with 128MB RAM and a Savage4 (16MB) 3D card.
I can run games like halflife at a respectable speed, but when I try to do anything myself, even just a couple of cubes, it seems to be too slow.
Can anyone suggest reasons/solutions for this please? I''m quite new to OGL and would like to get this sorted before trying anything else.

If you want to increase performance with static vertex data, then learn something about display lists (very well explained it the redbook).
