loop construct in linear search

i''m asking this out of interest on how people set up their loops for linear searching. Obviously with language differences I can''t list the code, but everyone has constructed at least one linear search in their lifetime. So, how do you do it? Most people I know use a while loop, some use for loops, some use do loops, etcetc.
