Procedural Knot Torus/textures

Does anybody know how to procedurally generate knot torus?(Standart or with more than 3 knots and different angles like in 3D Max4). Or any other neat shapes that could be generated via algorithms?

I don''t relly know what a knot torus is, but if you mean the standard torus in 3ds max I can help you:
