Hi there! I''m making a particle engine to add some eye candy to the world. Everythings works as it should execpt that you can see the particles through the heightmap! This is obviously bad. Now... I have disabled depth testing when i render the particles and I know that is why i can see them through the heightmap. I''m wondering a few things.. 1st. I have tried additive blending and that works except that you can see the cornors of the billboard which totally ruins the effect. Is there a way I can use additive blending (and avoid a depth sort) and not see the edges of the billboards. 2nd If that is not possible will this render the correct results. Render Map Depth Sort Particels Render Particles Thanks for any help and if you have any suggestions that would work and I didn''t mention I would love to hear them thanks!!

Maybe the problem is not your code but rather
the texture of your particle.
Try to leave the edges of your texture transparent,
black whatever.
I know this kind of problem. It''s because the
gfx board sets (0,0) in the MIDDLE of the top left pixel.
good luck

Well.. Ok.. but how do I make a color transparent? When I put black around the border of the texture you still see it! Thanks for your help!

You need to create an alpha map for your texture. You can then turn on alpha rendering and have translucency.
