Hi all, I was wondering what the fastest way to check what the colour of a pixel currently displayed on the screen was (eg. if I wanted to take a screenshot). EDIT : under Windows Also is it possible for me to get a pixel's colour before it is rendered (eg. pre-lighting and shading adjustments) ? [edited by - Argus on September 11, 2002 11:48:10 PM]

Well, I guess you could use GetPixel() under windows (windows GDI function) but you would have to have a DC to the surface you are using.

If you were using pixel shaders, you could set the color buffer as a texture stage (provided you had pixel shader capabilities and enough texture stages)
