Rendering to the Desktop Wallpaper DC ?

Hey, search isnt available and im sure i saw a small thread about this ages ago, but anyhow.... Can the desktop wallpaper DC be rendered to with opengl? can it even be rendered to? if so how would i go about getting it?? Thanks in advance

Actually it can, but i think only in Win2k upwards, im not 100% sure how to do it. Overlaying i think its called. Sorry, but thats all i can think of the now...

Thanks for the fast reply, bummer bout only being able to in Win2k though, i think in that other thread i was talking about overlaying was mentioned, isnt that a Direct X thing though?

Hmmmm anyone else got any ideas?

You could try get the DC of the desktop ( thats the topmost window yea? ) and try to find a way to squeeze your drawing function in before the icons are drawn....? Soryy about the lack of help from my side, im pretty damn stoned
