Hello! Iv had some problems with loading 24bit-bitmaps (.bmp) in 16bit directdraw color mode. They seem to loose colorquality. But they look ok on the windows desktop in 16bit colordepth. I was told that this is because windows does dithering for you. I have looked for converters that can convert a 24bit bitmap to 16 bit but id dosn''t seem to be any around. How can i solve this? This must be a common problem? I am using the CreateSurfaceFromBitmap function that is in ddutil.h from the dx8.1 sdk to load the bitmaps.
