do big textures effect game speed? More than high poly meshes? Whats the average texture size? Does it effect your game if you have many textures coming from many files for the same objects? Most people put almost all the textures into one file. Sometimes I just map the textures from my 3d modeling program. I need to keep up my fps..my levels are starting to get big. thanks for anything.

1. Please choose better titles for your threads
2. Changing the current texture costs lots of time
3. On some cards textures must be quadratic and on some they may not be larger than 256*256, too
