I need Java for the computer course I''ve just started. I try and I try but neither the SDK nor the runtime will download. I can download anything else off the net, but not Java stuff apparently. The website says it has a new download scheme and that I should make sure I have the latest version of my browser, but I refuse to install the crap that is IE 6. IE 5.5 can download anything else, so I expect that is should be able to download the Java stuff. Anyone know of an alternate way to get Java? Sun should do a little better than this unless their goal is to scare off potential users/developers. Value of good ideas: 10 cents per dozen. Implementation of the good ideas: Priceless. I use IE 5.5 and haven''t had a problem.

Make it work.
Make it fast.
