Fruity Loops Or Reason
Reason is extremily good. It allows for many, many different ways of making loops and beats. It is expensive, but if youre like me, just go to Guitar Center and tell them you dont want to pay full price, they shaved $100 bucks off mine.
I''ve used Orion for about a year-and-a-half. I haven''t used the latest platinum version which costs $199 but I''ve used Orion Pro which costs $89. You can follow the link in my sig and that''ll give you an idea of what Orion Pro is capable of. From what I''ve heard, Platinum is MUCH better.
I haven''t used Reason so I can''t say much about it. I''ve never bothered with it since it has a $399 price tag and it isn''t compatible with VST (has this changed in 2.0?) which gives you access to thousands of effects and synthesizers. Lately, I''ve been layin'' guitar and bass tracks which Orion handles very well.
