I dont' know if it is just because I am running visual Studio but I cannot have more than 2 auxSolidSpheres in my game at any one time because it slows the system down. I am using a school computer, it is pretty good and it shouldn't be slowing down with only two spheres. It has a p4 2GHz proc, and a geforcexmx400 video card. How many spheres should I be able to draw at any one time? EDIT: How do you enable cull face so it doesn't render the inside of the polygons? aux is bad dont use it,
use glut also u can draw a sphere in glut or with glu.
as a matter of fact i was drawing spheres with glusphere last night in a testing app.
on my computer which is slower than the above mentioned i was drawing about 500 spheres tesselated with 20,20 at about 20fps. one sphere tesselated at 100,100 is 200fps.
if youre not getting similar framerates (or better) perhaps u dont have hardware acceleration. check the faq for info (www.opengl.org right side of page)
