Hi, I am just wondering how you guys save textures/texture coordinates when creating complex 3D objects. Does it all have to be done manually?? And if so are there any tricks of the trade I should know about?? I have used 3D Studio Max to create vertex lists, but I don''t know how to do the same for textures, if it is possible. Doolwind

Yes, typically, its the manual route. Though if you use Maya, you can try the Automatic mapping feature, if your in luck, it''ll give you something that you want so you can capture it and use your texture editor. But manual is probably the easiest way.

You can get a head start by using Planar mapping to begin with and kinda edit away. If the object is really complex, used Sub-D or NURB modelling, UV map it and convert it to poly and adjust UV some more.

Hope that helps.
