Shifting the dimensions of an object in OpenGL
Alright, for this little demo that I''m working on, which is basically a space flight pseudo-game, I''ve created a little Andromeda ripoff high speed travel system. Now, basically there is this funnel where the users ship is able to be seen(3rd person) and you can move the ship around inside the funnel, which will change direction depending on where you move. Now, the problem is that I don''t know how to change the shape of the funnel, and everything that I tried will change the shape of the funnel, but the length between vertexes(ises?) changes. I don''t want them to, but the only solution I can think of would be very CPU extensive.
Any suggestions?
use a scalar for the length so its always the same length
desired length/current length = scalar
now multiply each value by the scalar so that the current legth will change into the desired.
I''ve never seen Andromeda so I might be confused on what your doing eactly, maybe you can draw a plane at -z so the tube always ends at a certain point in front of the view.
