A Borland compatible ddraw.lib

I was learning OpenGL, but since it was a 3D API, even a 2D game ran slow on my old Pentium 1 200mhz. Someone on the OpenGL board recommended that I use a 2D API such as DirectDraw. I am managing fine with it so far. The problem is I need a lib that is compatible with Borland C++ 4.52. I downloaded the SDK, but the Borland libs there don''t work. I tried using Borland''s implib to make one from my ddraw.dll. But I got an access violation when I attempted to. Can anyone help me fix that or find a lib that will run for Borland C++ 4.52. Thank you.
