Can SDL use Mesa? I compiled and installed Mesa earlier today, and when I did my SDL/OpenGL game stopped working. I figured out that SDL was giving a "could not retrieve OpenGL functions" error when it tried to set the video mode. The whole reason I'm trying to use Mesa is because I want to use Valgrind to debug my game, and the NVidia OpenGL driver screws it up. Edit: I forgot to mention I'm using Linux. I guess that's fairly important, ain't it? [edited by - BradDaBug on October 3, 2002 11:01:31 PM]

SDL can use Mesa for OpenGL, but Mesa has to be set up properly. I''m not sure what-all is involved in this (as i don''t use Mesa), but i know it might be a pain in the neck.

I''d look into installing Mesa in your home directory, and linking against that.
