Programming books
Please help me out, I am intending to create a game program for my final year project, and I need to know the names of some good books regarding:
- 2d game programming
- 3d game programming
- directx/direct3d
thanx
Andre LaMothe has written some good books about game programming, "Black Art of 3D Programming", "Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus" and some Dummies book are the ones that come to mind.
And there are also a lot of good tutorials on this site.

i really liked "Real-time Rendering" (well, maybe "liked" is too strong a word). there''s a review somewhere on gamedev, i think. this book is specific on 3d mathematics and theory, and no DX or OGL code is really given to you. but if you don''t know (or remember) a lot of 3d math or how it applies to computer graphics, this is a good book, as well as getting familiar with advanced topics.

some people think i'm crazy, some people know it

Although I think RealTimeRendering is an awesome book, I wouldn''t recomend it to someone new to game programming.

Andre LaMothe...yeah I heard some good stuff about him during my days with the DC (R.I.P). Thanx for the reply guys.
I know this not the appropriate topic/thread for this, but do any of you know anything about genetic programming in video games AI?. For my final year project.
Thanx again.
