Hello all, I am embarking on a small gaming project (my first) and am pondering if D3DX''s ease of use comes at the cost of performance. Does anyone have any experience with this And can give me some advice? Cheers!, Kenny

Firstly, I doubt any performance hit is substantial. If this is your first project (and I think lots of people would agree that a 3D program is pretty ambitious) then not only should you probably not worry so much about performance, but the simplicity of D3DX should let you focus on other, more important things.

Secondly, from all accounts, and from looking at it briefly, I''d say you can easily substitute your own code in for D3DX calls at a later date if you ever found a performance bottleneck.

Good luck.
