I have a huge problem
I have recently installed visual studio 6 onto my computer i then installed the DirectX 8.0 SDK, they both installed properly so i then made a DirectX app using the wizard, but every time i run it my computer resets. has anyone else had this problem ? and can anyone tell me how to fix it?
Thanks
Do any of the precompiled binaries function?
Ie.. C:\dx8\samples\Multimedia\Direct3D\bin\pointsprites.exe
-andy

ROFL, sorry, I just had to laugh at Fuzztrek''s comment, "The WIZARD?"
OK, um, what wizard?
Try opening up VC++, select File->Open Workspace and browse into your DirectX SDK folders to locate one of the sample programs. Should be someplace like C:\DXSDK\samples\Multimedia\Direct3D\Billboard
Select the .dsw file and open. Then press F7 and then try to run the sample. If that resets your machine then something really is wrong.

the directx appwizard, commonly found in dxsdk\bin\dxutils\appwizard.
