OpenGL Support for OpenGL extensions

Recommended Posts

I believe there's a way to enumerate the extensions from the driver. Whether or not the hardware actually accelerates those extensions is another story (not guaranteed, is it?). And beware, some drivers may have an extension that is named similar but not identical to the extensions in other drivers.

You can retrieve the extensions in the OpenGL driver, according to NeHe, by calling glGetString(GL_EXTENSIONS). Each extension is separated by a blank.

Check out NeHe Productions, lesson 22 for more details.

Yeah, know that

I wanted to know if there was an oneline list of extension support so I could see how many cards supported a specific extension before implementing in my application.

If it''s to any interest, it''s the WGL_ARB_pixel_format, WGL_ARB_pbuffer and SGIX_depth_texture i''m concerned about.
