Hello, i''m in need of a contraption that will convert 3ds models into DirectX meshes, including textures and normals etc. So far its a throwup between Milkshape and 3DWin. I would choose conv3ds but i''m concerned over its accuracy (should I be?) Can anyone be kind enough to help me out, which should I choose? Are they accurate? Or are there any other such programs that anyone uses? Thank you in advance!

I use a plugin provided by microsoft that exports 3DS max files to x files (in 3DS max, so there are no other programs you need). Note that you must collapse the modifier stack before you export. I believe this is part of the SDK extras which can be downloaded off of msdn.

Aha, i''ll give it a whirl, thanks fuzz. Anyone know about 3DWin or Milkshape?
