How can I export bones animation from MAX

Hi, I''ve been experimenting with the MAX exporter from the DirectX 8.1 SDK but I failed to export an x file with the bones data in it. I''m making bones in MAX and then use skin modifier to wrap it. But everytime I export it to an x file there''s no bones system in my mesh.. Thanks
