Hi, I cannot understand one thing... I ran 3D Mark 2001 with Hardware TnL and all benchmarks are twice faster than with Software TnL. That is good, but.... ...in my 3D game I may choose SOFT TnL or HW TnL. Here is exactly inverse effect. If I use software TnL, FPS counter has about 150FPS and if I use HW TnL FPS is anly about 20FPS. I cannot understand it... Thanks for explaination.... Yours Swap P.S. I have Radeon 8500...

SW TnL is less sensitive to bad batching than HW TnL. How many polys do you send with each Draw*Primitive? Aim for at least 200+ otherwise the card will process the vertices faster than the time it takes to call the instruction. How many renderstates and texturestagestates do you change each frame? Aim for < 200.
