Hello, does anyone here has a simple example of OpenGL startup in XWindows? I know how to do it in Win32 with the wgl* functions. How should I create a window in X and bind a valid OpenGL context to it? Sure, I know I can use GLUT, but that is not desirable right now. If it matters, the code should run on SPARC Solaris and Linux, without Motif and/or GTK+ libraries. Thanks in advance, DaBit

DaBit, I am sorry but I think I can''t help you. I just can give you a hint! You could check the GLUT source code and learn how to do it. Yeah, I know this is the hard way. The first place to search for tutorials would be opengl.org

Try checking out some of the examples that come with Mesa. ISTR that they
have loads of examples that you can look at.
