ID3DXMesh
I have created a box in 3ds max 4, and applied a texture to it. I exported that to a .3ds file, and then converted it to a .x file with the DirectX 8.1 SDK utility.
I can view it in the DX 8.1 SDK Mesh Viewer. However, it will not show up at all in my app! I have stepped through my code, and I can see that an ID3DXMesh is being allocated, and a texture is being loaded without problems. It just doesn't draw as far as I can tell. When I use the same code to load and draw the sample tiger.x (using tiger.bmp) which comes with DirectX 8.1, the program runs the same way, but the tiger shows up in my app.
I even tried scaling the mesh as suggested by 100, but it still doesn't appear.
Has anyone ever encountered a problem like this? Could anyone suggest a solution, or method for solving this problem.
Thanks a lot,
G

check culling (disable), model size, near/front clipping planes. load the model into one of the sample programs, see if they handle it correctly. make sure you don''t have a black model on black background, try orange or blue instead.
