How do I make the computer beep in java? You know, like the beep when your computer boots up. I cant find this anywhere in the java docs! Thanks, Tim.

I believe the toolkit has something like that.

Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().beep();

Take a look here. I don''t know if it works or not though. Never used it myself. Good luck

Any particular reason you want the system beep like the one when booting? I know of a few ways to get Java to beep, but I''m pretty sure it uses whatever Windows has set for beep(ding.wav on my computer)

Hmm, that probably works if you''re running the program in a dos/command prompt window. Will it work if you''re running an Applet and it prints to the Java COnsole in Internet Explorer and/or Netscape? With or without the Java Plug-in?
