hiya, i know this question always pops up every-so-often, but: - what *games* are you good people working on at the moment? the reason i ask is because i get depressed by the constant talk about "engines" and things. i keep reading about "my engine can do this" and "my engine can do that", but what about actual *games* that use these engines?? i''m sorry if i sound cynical . 99% of you people here are a darned sight cleverer than me, i admit it, so i don''t mean to demean any of you folk working on these kick-ass engines... it''s just that, y''know, i wanna play some cool, unique, original games, and the best place to look is always the hobbyists... so: lets have some URLs of your latest projects, so we can all try eachother''s games. surely it can only be a good thing, right? thanks for your time. cheerz, thos. ps. to show i''m not just some parasitic leecher after some cheap gaming thrills, i am also helping on a project too: "Zargadia" - the mother of all invader clones (please don''t sue us hasbro! ). most of the developers frequent this forum, so you can be sure you''ll all hear about it once it''s in a fit state for release (don''t hold your breath... ). pps. oh, and i also have a sprite engine in the works... did i say "engine"? oh shit... )

Trigon is working on an RPG (I know, yuck , but just read on a little) called Disco Adventures. Anyway, it''s a cool little title in which you have to defeat the evil forces of modern and semi-modern music and bring back the glory of Disco!

Some moves we''re including: Disco Inferno - AKA "The Afro Blast"
Dancin all night long - The hero dances his enemy to death.
"Final Disco" (title tentative) - A combination of all previous moves, Final Disco is used to smite the super bad enemies of Disco.

Hehe - some enemies are:
Enya, with a mind controlling wave attack set to "Sail Away"
The Ace of Base - you saw the sign, and it blasted you with a bajillion volts of electricity
And others....

Blah, blah, blah... Anyway, we''re making that just to test out my silly little square tile engine. Then we''re moving on to a more high-fantasy RPG called Quest for the Orbs, which in turn is really just a *small* intro-segue-thingy into Plane Sailor, in which you take control of a Magically-Shielded-Really-Big-Sailing-Ship-That-Travels-Between-Planes-Of-Existence. Get it?

One note: though it seems excessive to have three projects at once, Quest for the Orbs and Disco Adventure are just two-mont projects really, bigger than Pacman, but smaller than anything serious. Plane Sailor is our real baby.

Phew!

I like food.

I am working on a 3d first person shooter style game. I hope to have the first release by the end of the summer. I am having trouble finding time to work on it with school. The engine uses OpenGL, basic texture mapping, collision detection, and some other basics I am working on. A level editor will come soon.
