can someone explain multitexture under opengl? you may skip parts about detecting and mapping multitexture functions. god is a coder!

Sure, check out www.opengl.org under Developer Documentation/Specs/OpenGL 1.2 Specification. In the appendix of that document is the ARB_multitexture spec, that gives you the specifics. As far as examples go, I think Mike Gold has one up on his page:
