it is ok in D3dim to do this: create the primary surface attach the backbuffer to the primary with DDS7Primary->GetAttachedSurface() abd then create the render target surface that will be blited on the attached backbuffer? another thing: while i blit the rendered polygons what function to use - Blt or BltFast?
