ATI RADEON??

I want to buy a graphic card, but we can''t find anymore geforce3 ti in france..
So i have either to choose a geforce4 or a ATI radeon..
I have a few questions:
is the ati radeon 9000 better that the 8500?
Is the geforce4 mx460 better than the ati radeon 9000?
Is the ATI a good card compared to the geforce4 ti?

it depends, a radeon 8500 or 9000, 9700 are all more powerful than the best gf4ti that u can by at the moment. ie u can do more things with a radeon. though the gf4ti tends to do things a bit quicker than the radeon, also nvidia tend to have better driver support than ati (ati are improving though).
the radeon 9700 is the quickest (even faster than a gf4ti4600) + most powerful card that exists at the moment (+ prolly the most expensive)

A Radeon 9000 is slower than a 8500 don''t let the name fool you... It''s the Same with GeForce3 and GeForce4 MX the 4 MX is not faster in any way.

Also take a look at the new 9500 and 9500pro. They''ve got all the features of the 9700 but aren''t as fast. Still faster than the 8500 though.

What kind of card were you speaking about? is the radeon Pro really better than the radeon 128??
I heard that the radeon 9000 is better than the geforce3 ti only under in direct3d and thant the radeon 9000 isn''t very good for opengl.. Is it true?

ATI RadeOn 9000 have only 1 Texture Unit per pipe instead of the 2 Tex Unit per pipe on the RadeOn 8500.
ATI sucks as much as nVidia when it comes to naming convention.

Ok, so i think i''m going to buy the radeon 8500 tv at 109$.
