I know this has most liekly been discussed to death in the past but with the search on the forum down I can''t find any past threads. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew of any profilers that were a bit cheaper than vTune (which is somewhat out of my megre University Student budget ). Ballistic Programs

Hello.
If you want free alternative, you can use Lightweight profiler found in FlipCode''s code of day archive: http://www.flipcode.com/cotd/

I use similar too (actually didn''t get it working in DevCpp while ago, so I wrote similar myself).

It''s very useful, and easy to use, and work perfectly at least for me
gnu gcc comes with everything you need
And Dev-C++, which uses gcc, comes prepacked with a profiler and organizes it into a nice chart (still haven''t figured out to interpret all those numbers, though).
