Palette problems

I'm trying to glue some textures on some polys, but the palette gets all screwed up everytime I draw one of these textures. If the color of the last texture is, lets say, red, the whole scene will get kind of red. I'm using standard BMP files (24-bit color palette) for textures. Besides textured polys, I'm also using some manualy colored polys and polys colored with glMaterialfv(). What is the most common problem (and solution, ofcourse) in this kind of situation?
