I have set up an vertex-buffer with lit vertices (vertices with diffuse info) and I know want to use an material as diffuse source instead of the color of the vertices, what rendering state could I use to solve my problem? I don''t want to convert all my vertices into another format, because I sometimes need to use the vertex-color and sometimes I need to use an material color...

Perhaps I expressed myself wrong...

I have my vertex-format with color-informations, sometimes I want to render my vertices using the color-informations, but sometimes I need to render some of the vertices with color-informations from an material source (all vertices should have the color specified in the material source)
