GLUT problem
I have been coding a model reader (the model is stored as an index-face vertex representation).
The code I have then outputs the model (using GL_POLYGONS) to draw each face (faces have between 3 and 6 vertices).
The problem I have is that development is on both linux and win32. The win32 code works fine on it''s own, but when I use GLUT to compile, some of the faces are transparent and the model is very messed up.
Is there a known problem with the implementation of GL_POLYGONS in GLUT?
Did you use GLUT on windows also? or just simply win32API?
If so, it is most likely to be at your linux driver. If the GLUT is used in linux only, then check your init code ( I forgot how it goes, but it''s the one that you have to define something like GLUT_RGBA etc...)

The guy just said he uses GLUT in windows too. Linux version works perfect from what I understood, but the problem is when he uses GLUT with windows.

I dont think that GLUT has any problems with GL_POLYGONS, but make sure that you dont enable additive blending by mistake, sounds like it. Also, make sure you define GLUT_DOUBLEBUFFER along with GLUT_RGBA, I am pretty sure that is the problem.
