Ok heres my situation... I started the DirectX 8.1 SDK install in the morning before I left for work. Came home at lunch and there was a dialog box saying there was an install error. However it had the standard installation complete window that asks you to reboot. So I reboot. Then when the progress bar is halfway up in the Windows startup screen it seems to hang. I''m running Win2k With Service Pack 3. I tried starting up in safemode which worked... however when I tried to uninstall the SDK it tells me I can''t access the windows installer becuase I am in safe mode....Argh isn''t that what safe mode is for to fix problems like this? grrr I just reinstalled this entire system a few weeks ago and I would like to avoid having to do it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance.

what are the specs for your computer?
Programmers of the world, UNTIE!
AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz, 256MB DDR Ram, Geforce 2 MX, 40GB 7200RPM Hard Drive

If that doesn''t explain anything let me know what else you wanna know about it.

Been you to have any spliff man?
did you run other applications during installation?

My compiler generates one error message: "does not compile."
