Greetings fellow game programmers, I am 17 and getting ready to attend Full Sail in Florida and I have a knowledge of Java and some C but I want to get more in depth with C should I learn Visual C++? Will it help or hurt? I really want to go to more platform design programming like PSX etc.. any suggestions would be appreciated my addy is radianceavatar@msn.com thanks.

You learn C++, not Visual C++. Visual C++ is a compiler. C++ is a language, and you learn the language not the compiler.
If PSX is your goal, don''t learn using Visual C++. I suggest you start looking for PS development kit.


My compiler generates one error message: "does not compile."

Visual C++ is an IDE. The name of the compiler isn''t visual c++ it''s something else that I don''t remember...
