how do i play movie?

How do I play movie files like AVI(FF7) or QT(Septerra Core)? Is there free libraries to use or do I need to buy the library that play moview?

The easiest way to do what you''re looking for would be to use DirectShow (which is obviously a component of DirectX). If you don''t have the SDK components, you can get them here, along with some code samples. Happy coding .
