I have a simple question. how do you change a program''s icon to an other icon file?

Right click -> Properties -> Change Icon
or did you mean that you coded something and want it to have a certain icon. Then you need to include whatever icon you want as a resource in your project before compiling.
In VC++
Include -> Resource -> Icon
Then draw whatever you want and remember to put
LoadIcon(hInstance, MAKEINTRESOURCE(MY_ICON_ID))
In your windows class

To complement DrunkenBastard, the app icon should be the **first** icon listed in your ressource file.

Thats super, but how do you change it in the title bar??
It says in a few booksk that the IconSm property is used for the task bar AND the title but, but I only get it to show up in the task bar, while the title bar icon remains the same. This is strange becuase they are loaded in the same place and use the same resource
