VBA = Visual Basic for Applications will probably turn you down. It is possible to make some simple games like Tic-Tac-Toe with it of course, but it is slow and you don''t learn "real" VB programming.

I''d strongly suggest you get Visual Basic version 5 or 6 learning/professional edition (I haven''t tried the newest .NET version though, maybe it is something to look into; if you can afford it that is).
