Hi. I know that most major 3d studios have their own brand name file formats, but how do people create game-defined model files like Quake MD2/3''s and HalfLife MDL files? Do they just use 3ds max (or what have you) and export it as one of those formats or is there some conversion utility or something? I don''t actually own any 3d studios, I''m just curious because I think it will help when I actually have to start implementing models into my code to have a better understanding of where these models come from. "You TK''ed my chicken!"
