I''m running my application in debug mode and get the following error everytime I try to apply tectures to objects in my scene. DDraw:ERROR:************************************************************ DDraw:ERROR:ASSERTION FAILED! File d:\directx.chk\koolaid\ddraw\main\ddsblt.c Line 458: this_lcl->ddsCaps.dwCaps & DDSCAPS_SYSTEMMEMORY The file path is meaningless since I don''t have anything on my D: drive. Also, the application appears to work properly. Koolaid anyone? Corey

Well my guess is that the assertion is something left in the debug version of the DirectX runtime lib to let you know when you''re doing something wrong. The path would be the path of the original file when the runtime lib was compiled (Microsoft has an interesting naming scheme, eh

If I knew more about Direct3D I might be able to tell you more about that error..
