Help me texture this model.....(quad strip)

Hey, I have a model of a beam thats made up of quad strips with many "strips" (500 over 20 units) to show the curve of its bending accurately. Id like to texture it, but the strips are so small, you cant make the texture out. Is there a way to slap a txture on there every 20 strips or so? here is the idea behind making my beam: begin(quadstrip) do{ vertex; vertex; }while(length of beam <=20) the do while is to keep the beam 20 in length even after the bending and rotations. any ideas??
