Is anyone aware of any resources that would discuss installing apt-get (as well as dpkg, dselect and the other necessary crap) on another linux distro (such as Slackware)? The main reason I ask is because of the fact that I really like the Debian package system, but I prefer much of the Slackware distro better other than the packaging system. Would it even really require all that much more than simply installing, or would it require some more configuring?

This page has instructions on how to setup apt-get for Red Hat 8.0. It''s pretty easy, and it worked fine when I tested it a while ago. You don''t need to install dpkg to use apt-get, that package uses rpm instead (rpm is the only other format people have made it support that I''m aware of though).
