vertex orientation in a 3ds model

hi, i have wrote a 3ds loader that uses OpenGL for display the models, however i have a problem: The problem is when i add lights, some polygons look correct, but other dont, and thats because, some polygons have clock-wise ordered-vertices and others counter clock-wise, so obviusly, the normal of some polygons point to the incorrect side,,, Is there any way to fix this (i mean does 3dmax has the option of set the way vertices are ordered?) sorry for my poor english
