How does one allow one''s program to upload high scores to a remote database without exposing that remote database to security issues (having the database''s host and password stored in the program for anyone to access)? I guess you could have the information encrypted somehow, but I''m very sure that wouldn''t be secure when the data is sent over the network.

I would suggest making a host program that the scores are sent to and is, from there, put into the database. It would keep the database from being a securtiy issue pretty much. Sorta like a proxy type of program.
