cooler than I thought!

you should change, when you hold over items, so that the hands "selectino spot" is in the middle of the hand. also there''s bug so that the character is drawn after the wall piece when it should be vice versa

Thanks for reporting the bugs you've found!

But i'm recognised that there is an false Link to the File

the latest File is located at:

http://f.kastl.bei.t-online.de/downloads/BetaRelease04.zip

by the way its coded in VB so i would never let any postings
unreplyed where something written like "VB is too lame for any kind of isometric games"
The Engine uses 4 Layers but got still no proper working collision
detection so the player can nearly walk in every tile on the screen.

The Demo will quit with F12 not as usual with ESC

Well, all is see is a large green diamond with texture and I can easily get scrolling to occur by moving the mouse to the corners. I get between 199 and 900 FPS. Very smooth!!

Hello Kirk

Are you serious?
There should be a lot more to the screen.
What about the Sprite and the Side Menu.
What''s about the Map and so on?

Yep, I''m serious. The window displays normally but I didn''t notice any menuing, etc. The only display I get is a big green diamond (with texture) that scrolls around. I''ll run it again once I get home and see if I missed something obvious.

Sorry for the delay. I checked it again last night. Big green diamond which scrolls. No menu. No characters. Just green.

OK, I tried again on a different computer. This time is was a 1GHz P3 running Win2K. Very nice! It ran very smoothly, without flicker, and at about 75-80 fps. Excellent work! Perhaps theres a WinXP issue?

Yep, that''s what I was trying the first time around, WinXP Pro. Maybe it''s the graphics card? Don''t know...

Everything is displaying quite well on my system, at 45-60 fps:
PIII 1Ghz, 256 Meg RAM
Asus GeForce256 32 meg AGP video card
Windows 98se

The scrolling at the sides of the map were a little twitchy... but other than that, looks like a good start!!!

very good improvment!

I am now getting 2fps!
I am not sure what it is, my system is good enough to be getting much more but I am sure you will think of something.

Hey Dalik,

You''re the first one who reports trouble at the FPS display.
I don''t know how the strange behavior comes up but all others
get the right results - so I can''t say anything about this
extremly low FPS at your machine.
How is the scrolling and the movement like? Is it lame and sticky too? And of course your equipment is really not as bad as the FPS
suggest you!
There is only one thing that might be a possible reason - don''t you use XP?

Yes I am running windows XP, everything is upgraded (sp1 etc) DX 9 I just ran the program in win98/me mode but still slow. I couldnt scroll at all and I was getting 1fps average.

I have no idea why.

Doesn''t do anything on mine. I even have VB6, Dx8, modest 3D card, win98. I even tried switching to 800x600x16 but no luck.
Screen flashes up black and then instantly disappears.

Hello Sailorstick,

Hmm.. strange!
Got you the latest Version?
Have you unzipped all files in the same directory?
I may post a update with activated DebugLog for more
accurate Error reporting. Stay tuned!

Hey Sailorstick,

I''ve updated the Prog and included a DebugLog File
So if you''re running the Game and it won''t run send me the
Debug.log File located in the same Dir as the Game.

So the Link to the latest File is now at:

http://f.kastl.bei.t-online.de/downloads/BetaRelease06.zip

so long
