Does anyone know if it''s ok to include the DX SDK (the whole burrito) on my "How To Make Games CD-Rom" and Book And no, that''s not the name. I couldn''t figure it out from the license (sorry not a laywer) so I was hoping somebody here knows the rules. It would be nice if I could include it, so people do not have to download the entire thing over their modem, and I see other books doing it. But I''m not sure if they got special permission or what? -Michael

I opened up my copy of "Windows Game Programming for Dummies" and in the back with all that legal stuff I found this:

"This program (DirectX SDK on the CD) was reproduced by IDG Books Worldwide, Inc. under a special arrangement with Microsoft Corporation, etc., etc., etc."

So I guess your publisher has to reach a certain agreement with Microsoft on that matter.

Good luck,
Martin
