insert weapon???
hi guys...
this is about RPG graphics
how can i insert a weapon/armor to the player''s body??
i have player picture without weapon/armor
then i have weapon/armor picture
how to mix this two picture
am i have to calculated the body size and then put the weapon on the proper place to the body everytime or is there other tricky way?
it makes me very tired to calculate the weapon''s picture to fit the player''s body
i mean like this:
when the player stop, i calculate hand position then put the weapon in there
then the player move, i have to calculate again the player''s hand (cos when move his hand also move) then put the weapon on his hand again
when the player attack, it''ll be more complicated!!
*fiuhh* is there other way to solve this?!?!?
You can define a "hotspot" pixel for every sprite, so that when you draw a weapon for the player you just place it at the hotspot location. Hotspot can be just X,Y coordinate on the sprite''s body.
I haven''t actually done it, but assuming it is a boned model, you''ll have a matrix for the hand (or arm) that should be the same as the weapons. For each character, have an offset, just a location, where that character''s weapon goes on the untransformed model, then render the weapon with the matrix for the hand, or arm, or whatever else it is attached to.
